FAT SHAMING NEEDS TO STOP!!!!

I'm so sick of seeing & hearing people fat shame others. I don't even know where to begin with this post... I read a little snippet from NatGeo on Instagram today, about a black girl who is trying to help promote diversity in the Equestrian field! Which I think is so cool and so wonderful. But then I clicked on the dreaded comment section. I know... big mistake. The comments ranged all over the place, with a good majority of people saying that Race isn't the problem, and that the real issue is Classism.... which to me, usually ends up tying back into race and diversity. I mean, it's a perpetual cycle. But that's a topic for further conversation in the future.... but what we are really here to discuss are the comments that didn't at all pertain to race or class. These comments were regarding this girl's weight. When has is ever been okay to make a comment about someone else's body? This shit NEEDS to STOP NOW!!! Stop fucking body shaming. It's so ...

Let's Talk About Denim

Why is it so hard to find good quality flared jeans in my size without them costing $250??? I'm so sick of overly stretchy jeans that wear down super quick and end up with holes in the thighs. I'm also super sick of seeing "skinny jeans," "straight leg jeans," and "super skinny jeans." That shit does not look good on me, and I'm sick of trying to make styles like that "work" for my plus size body. I would just like the good ol' days of proper flared jeans back, please (and not jeans labeled as "flared" but are actually just boot cut)!!! I do not pull off skinny jeans, well at all. I'm really not trying to draw extra attention up to my gut. At least with flared jeans, there's something to distract from what's happening around my stomach and thighs. And maybe you're thinking to yourself,"You should learn to love your body more!" But let me tell you... that's hard to do when you are constantl...

I LOST 7 LBS THIS WEEK!!!

OMG- I lost about 7lbs this week! That's a pound a day!! More on this later...

Happy March!!!

Let's just jump right into it! Last time I blogged around mid February, I mentioned my weight being 251.5lbs. I have since weighed myself twice. On February 19, I weighed in at 247.9lbs. And then on February 26, I weighed in at 246.3. I'll be real, that weight loss is not much in my mind, considering my weight has always really seemed to fluctuate by a few pounds. But, because I've been actively recording my food intake with the Lose It app, I do feel that being consistent has likely helped play a part in losing a few pounds already. I have found, that while I still do have occasional cravings for junk food, I have generally been good about staying on track, specifically with watching my portion sizes, staying within my calorie count, and chosing healthier snacks, over unhealthy snacks. (Fortunately, in terms of the snacks, I've also been doing good about not keeping things like Swiss Cake Rolls, or Swedish Fish around! Those are two of my biggest food downfall...

When you're waiting on the words to just start flowing out of you... (filmdaily.co)               Well, here I am almost exactly three years to the day, that I wrote the first post for this new blog. And I seriously, only have two entries to show for it...well, three after this, I guess. I don't know what's more embarrassing, that I didn't follow through with this blog, or that I didn't follow through with my resolutions to a healthier body and mind? I'm not sure what route this blog will take from here, but I've realized (again) that I'm at a point in my life where I need to make some serious changes - and this is the start of that new journey. With lots of hope and determination, I'm anticipating when I look back on this post three years from now, that I can say I did in fact follow through with both goals of maintaining an interesting blog and transforming my mind and body.           I know this entry is...

Protein Bars [Copycat RX Bars] │ Recipe Testing Attempt 1

Image
Good Afternoon, Beautiful People!  Today I wanted to share with you, a recipe (well, technically 2), that I tested yesterday! My husband and I recently discovered RX Bars. And while they are super delicious, they are just too damn expensive to justify eating on a regular/daily basis! If you are not familiar with RX Bars, they are protein bars, packed full of flavor, with very few ingredients. The company that created them, boasts that they (only) contain 3 Egg Whites, 6 Almonds, 4 Cashews, 2 Dates, and No B.S.! I say " only" in parenthesis because many of the bars also contain a few other simple ingredients. For example, the Chocolate Sea Salt RX Bar, also contains Cacao, Sea Salt, and Natural Chocolate Flavor. So, while all the ingredients are very simple and pure, most of the bars have added ingredients to formulate different flavored bars.  (Peanut Butter, Mixed Berry, Chocolate Chip, Blueberry, and Cinnamon Apple - just to name a few.) Below, I have formulated...

New Year │ New You

Image
Welcome to my newest blog: Clean Resolutions. As I'm sure you're aware, I am a little late to the New Year's Resolutions - well, on paper anyways. At the beginning of the new year (2018), I decided to make a change. I was turning 30 this year, and it was time that I focus on becoming a "better me." I began by creating a few simple resolutions - those of which, I honestly thought would become a thing of the past, very quickly into the year. But , I have actually kept up with many of them. (I know! Surprising!) And, because of that, I have decided to create this blog, to not only share my resolutions and goals with all of you, but to also help motivate myself in keeping on track!    To begin, I kept the resolutions simple. Things like: washing my face every morning & every evening, taking pride in my skin care regimen, drinking more water everyday, eating healthier, keeping my house tidier, and saying a daily mantra that I really believe in. Surprisingl...
